Expand your art with Encaustic! Join visual artists Candace Law and Melissa Rian on Saturday and Sunday, November 18-19 for a two-day advanced encaustic collagraph workshop and learn more about this technique of working with an ancient art form using hot wax.
The workshop will feature printmaking, first using wax medium to build up layers of texture on a plate, then inking and running it through a press to pull a collagraph print. Even if you are new to this type of printmaking with encaustic but would like to experiment with it, you are welcome to join us. Space is limited, so register today.
The agenda for the two days will include:
- A review of the basic process
- Making textured plates using wax, other materials and tools
- Pulling prints with multiple plates and colors
- Using different papers for printing
- As always, individual work time
The equipment, supplies, and many materials needed for the workshop are provided. You may bring any tools or materials to create texture for your plates, as well as any special papers you might like to experiment with in printing.
Workshops are subject to cancellation because of insufficient enrollment or for other reasons. If a workshop is cancelled, you will have the option to receive a full refund or transfer your registration to another scheduled workshop.
