“Photographing Fiber Art” Program on April 10

I’ll be presenting a 1-hour program on “Photographing Fiber Art” on Monday, April 10 at a meeting of the Ann Arbor Fiber Arts Guild. The meeting begins at 6:30 pm at the Zion Lutheran Church (1501 W. Liberty in Ann Arbor).

“Five Essentials for Great Images”

This one-hour program for artists and artisans covers the five essentials for successfully photographing your art and getting great images. Topics include the important camera settings, lighting basics, and how to get the correct exposure, along with how to quickly edit the images and the easiest way to format them for show entries. Whether your members use a traditional digital camera or the camera in a phone or tablet to photograph their artwork, the program is a must-have on your schedule.

Shoot Great Images™ Workshop

This 1-day in-studio workshop will teach you how to take great photos of your artwork with confidence using the Shoot Great Images™ program.

The session covers concepts and terminology, camera features, and how to light and photograph a variety of artwork. You also learn how to process the images using Photoshop® Elements or a photo app and format them for exhibition entries and other uses. Included is a workbook with material from the workshop for future reference.

Shoot Great Images™ Masterclass

This comprehensive two-day workshop teaches you how to photograph your artwork like an expert using the Shoot Great Images™ program and supplemented with additional material.

The sessions cover both basic and advanced concepts, camera features, and how to light and photograph a variety of artwork, from paintings to sculpture, fabric, and jewelry. You also learn how to process the images using Photoshop® Elements or a photo app and format them for competitions, sharing online, or reproduction. Included is a detailed workbook with material from the workshop for future reference.

Eric Law is a professional photographer, consultant, and the founder of ShootMyArt™. He works exclusively with artists and galleries to present their artwork at its best.
