Join us on Saturday, January 13 from 1-3pm for a table reading of “Viv ‘n Vince”, a play in two acts by Andrew Lark. It is a fictionalized account of the events that led up to the Stonewall Uprising in late 1960’s New York City… with a little “Norma Desmond” influence thrown into the mix.
The Stonewall Uprising was a series of confrontations between police and LGBTQ+ protesters over six days. It would fundamentally change the discourse surrounding LGBTQ+ activism in the US.
Andrew is a Detroit playwright and author. The play is a work in progress, and Andrew, along with several friends, will give a table reading. Audience members (both in person and online) and the performers will be encouraged to engage the playwright with their questions and feedback.
The event is free and open to the public. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. There is ample free parking in the lot and on the sidestreets.
Visitors also will have the opportunity to view “Unified”, a solo exhibition featuring Detroit contemporary artist Keto Green, as Maus Haus Gallery takes over the Studio.
Directions for participating in the program online will be posted here the day before the event.
