Join visual artist Candace Law in the studio on Friday, September 13 from 10 am to 4 pm for a day of learning to create art with encaustic.
The workshop is ideal for artists who are new to the medium and interested in gaining more knowledge about working with hot wax and getting hands-on experience. All the equipment and materials are provided, so this is a risk-free way for you to try something new and different. It also may spark ideas and creativity in your own current work. But be warned—you may find it addictive and want to learn more!
Worked with encaustic before but feeling a little rusty? This is a great time to come in and get reacquainted with the basics and the magic of this unique medium.
We’ll be covering:
- The equipment used for this medium and how to work safely
- Materials and tools for the best painting results
- Adding collage and mark-making—a couple of popular techniques
Demonstrations and group discussion, as well as individual work time and one-on-one time with me will fill out the day.
As always, the equipment, paints, panels, and more are provided. All you need to bring is your willingness to explore and have fun.

Workshops are subject to cancellation because of insufficient enrollment or for other reasons. If a workshop is canceled, you will have the option to receive a full refund or transfer your registration to another scheduled workshop.
