Wax on! Join visual artist Candace Law in the studio on Saturday, February 22 from 10 am to 4 pm to work on your own projects with encaustic. As a bonus, she will be talking about design elements and especially composition. There will also be a couple of used palettes and some materials available for purchase at rummage sale prices.

What It’s About…

The Open Studio gives you an opportunity for independent work, with an instructor available for questions and assistance. You should have some experience working with encaustic and want time on your own to work with the materials, tools, and techniques.

But if you are new to this wonderful medium, there is a place for you, too. The instructor can work alongside you and provide a hands-on experience in one or two techniques you might like to try.

During this Open Studio we will set aside a little time to discuss some of the elements of art and what makes a good composition. As we look at our art, I’d like to encourage looking deeper at what we are creating and consider how we might improve it.

What to Bring…

The equipment, as well as some supplies and materials, are provided. You may bring your own items and materials to incorporate into your artwork, as well as your own larger panels or unfinished pieces to work on. If you want to start a new project, smaller panels (up to 11×14) will be available.

Space is limited, so you won’t want to miss out—the cost is just $145.

Workshops are subject to cancellation because of insufficient enrollment or for other reasons. If a workshop is canceled, you will have the option to receive a full refund or transfer your registration to another scheduled workshop. Otherwise, registration fees are non-refundable.
