Description

Join Maus Haus Gallery for a hands-on workshop on submitting and presenting your artwork for call for entry opportunities.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting out, this workshop will provide you with valuable insights and tips to help your work stand out. Have you thought of submitting artwork for Call for Entries? What is a Call for Entry Exhibition? What are Jurors looking for when I submit a piece? How do I submit the proper file for a Call for Entry? How do I prepare my piece for display at the gallery?

If you have ever asked yourself one of these questions, then this workshop series is for you. This workshop is designed to help you to understand what galleries are looking for when they place a Call for Entry, what not to do, what jurors are looking at when selecting a piece, and how to properly prepare your work for display (if chosen).

This is a three-day series:

  • The first day will go over basic information on what a Call for Entry is, how it can benefit you as an emerging artist, and how to select your work appropriately.
  • The second day will discuss file format criteria, what not to send when submitting your work, hear from a few jurors about what they look for when choosing artwork. Participating as jurors will be Mike Ross, Cheryl Barill, and Anna van Schaap.
  • The third day will discuss why presentation is important, you will bring a piece to prepare for display as if accepted into a show and will wire the piece properly. For 2-D pieces, such as photographs or paintings, a frame will be provided to demonstrate accurate information. We will then have a mockup gallery set up to demonstrate the importance of proper mounting and display and what your piece can look like when on a gallery wall.

You can come to all three days or pick and choose which day is best for your needs.
