Exhibition Dates: May 15 – May 29, 2021
“Liminality” is a collection of more than 30 small works in encaustic and mixed media by artist Candace Law that represent her abstract response to our time in the pandemic.
This new series is about life since COVID, and the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that all of us have been wrestling with over the last year. Each piece incorporates a word and her visual reflection on it.
“Liminality” is the quality of ambiguity or disorientation that occurs in the middle stage of a period of cultural change. Traditions become uncertain and the future, once taken for granted, may be in doubt. It is the perfect term for what we’ve been going through for the past year.
Law is an award-winning artist who works primarily in encaustic and mixed media. Her work has appeared in many local, regional and national exhibitions, and is in a number of private collections. She is a principal at Color | Ink Studio, where she maintains her studio practice and teaches workshops for artists. Visit CandaceLaw.com to see more of her artwork.
