Edee Joppich: “Improvs” & Shadows

May 7 – June 17, 2022
Opening Reception: Saturday, May 7 at 2–4 pm

Color | Ink Studio & Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new mixed media paintings by international award-winning artist Edee Joppich. The paintings reflect her optimism, gratitude and joy during two years of creating more than 100 works in her studio, 30 of which are in this exhibition. They incorporate small watercolor “improvs” from her sketchbooks and photos she’s taken of her shadow over the past 15 years at various locations. She combines these elements with manmade and natural materials to create strong and uplifting works of art.

For more than five decades Edee has shared her gifts with others through her paintings, teaching, jurying and mentoring aspiring artists of all ages. She received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Marygrove College in Detroit, followed by graduate studies at Wayne State University in Detroit. Edee is a Master Fellow in the International Society of Experimental Artists and a Signature member in the National Collage Society. She has received awards in exhibits internationally, and her work is included in a number of private, public and corporate art collections.

You are invited to attend the Opening Reception on Saturday, May 7 from 2–4 pm. It’s free and open to the public, and Edee will give an informal artist talk. There is ample parking in the lot and on the side streets. A 10% discount is available on purchases the day of the Reception in the Gallery or online. The exhibition is on display through June 17.
